The Sunday Club is for the past beneficiaries of the Sunday School who have now grown up – mostly a group of 40+ ages. They come together, network and connect with each other every 2nd Sunday of the month from 4.00 – 6.30 pm. Sometimes, they go to the house of those who are unable to come. They celebrate birthdays together, watch a movie or a play in a theatre, go for a picnic and share happy moments. Like all other FS groups, this group also celebrates different festivals and special occasions. Currently, there are about 40 beneficiaries in this group. It is wonderful to see how they help and support each other socially, emotionally, medically and economically.
Economically, they help each other by promoting the businesses of those who are self-employed and also help in providing training for those who are self-employed or unemployed. They also help those searching for jobs by sharing information. When they meet, they discuss a range of issues related to challenges they face and work on ideas such as how to make Vadodara city more accessible for those with physical challenges.
Medical camps and talks on different topics are organized for them. Often, they are assisted in their short and long term medical treatment through referral to appropriate specialists. They try and arrange for financial aid or waivers for those who have difficulty in coping with their expenditures. Everyone chips in whichever way one can to help address difficult situations.
